Who is Sophia?

Welcome to the space for feminist theological-artistic reflection that aims to walk in Sophia-Wisdom's footsteps and her ancestry, her performance in the present and the future through the daily feeling-thinking of women.

It is a project cherished since long ago where the figure of Sophia-Wisdom has already been central in theology and in feminist art to deconstruct the patriarchal, racist, classist and sexist gaze of a male, white God with European features that it has annulled all representation of the imago Dei of women.

Through this walk in search of Sophia, we can discover the voice of countless women who, through science, the arts,  ancestral rituals, and daily life, testify to the Presence in which they live, and they are habited.

The term Wisdom comes from the Hebrew root hokmá/chokmá, from the Greek root as Sophia, and from the Latin as sapience. It is a feminine term that refers to know, know, flavor, savor, taste, savor. Its importance is in its sense of community, relational, feeling-thinking decolonial knowledge from these definitions.
